Back in Indiana

We had a most wonderful trip to Maryland.  The wedding of our great niece was a grand occasion to see other members of John's family.  His brother and wife were there as well as two of their other children.  Our daughter Amy and her friend John were there as well.  The wedding took place in The Dahlgren Chapel in Middletown, Maryland.  It was built in 1881 and was briefly owned in the twenties by the Sisters of Holy Cross, Notre Dame, Indiana.  They used it as a summer retreat.

Unfortunately I failed to take both my camera and my iphone to the wedding.  I would have loved to have had a shot of the ring bearer.  Their family dog, Bear, went running up the aisle on cue and let Sarah have the rings.  I was impressed.  Our mutts would have been distracted by all the people.  Chauncy would have lifted his leg somewhere along the way and Abby would have been too frightened to move.

The scenery is incredible this time of year.  Our campground was having a big Halloween weekend with a costume parade and contest, pumpkin carving contest, even prizes for best decorations of sites.  We were busy with family stuff so didn't participate in any of it.  Amy and John came over our last night and we had a fire and cooked steaks on the grill.

The plan is to leave on Monday for warmer weather.

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
