Halloween/Birthday 2010

The best laid plans............ For weeks now I've been busy sewing on a beautiful princess costume for Lily and a pirate's cape for Callum. At 2 years old, they didn't ask to have these costumes but their mother (and grandmother) had a vision of taking these cute little ones trick-or-treating and hearing all the ooh's and aah's.  The joke is on us.  Lily loved her dress the first night she put it on.  Margaret also bought a tiara, necklace and earrings which were a big hit.  She pranced around the house swinging her head and admiring herself in the mirror.

The next night I brought Callum's cape.  He took one look at it and said 'no like' and refused to try it on or have anything to do with it.  So tonight both babies refused to dress up.  Lily did wear her tiara for a bit and later tried on Callum's cape.

What they loved was having the kids come to the door.  When the doorbell rang, they would go running to the door all excited.  Later Lily began saying 'more guys' wanting more kids to come to the door.  After a while she would stand outside yelling 'more guys' at the top of her lungs.  When someone would go across the street, she was beside herself with excitement yelling at them and beckoning them to come to her house.  We must have had several hundred little ones and Lily and Callum thought it was more fun than they had ever had.  Margaret did let them have one piece of candy and they loved it. No surprise there.

We also celebrated my birthday.  Bill Orr joined us and Erick fixed a delicious meal of steak, salmon and asparagus on the grill.  I am a very fortunate woman who will soon have a new iPhone.  Thank you to my amazing children.
