Birthdays

40 years ago today, my sister called to tell me that she had given birth to a son.  My first reaction wasn't the nicest.  After all my baby was past due and I was sick of being pregnant.  But being the wonderful big sister I was, I congratulated her.  I remember that moment so clearly.  I don't know that I've ever known anyone as happy as my sister was at that moment.  She had waited a long time for that baby.  Dan was adored from that moment on.  Three days later my Margaret was born but she still lets me know that her baby was born first.

Dan has been a delightful member of our family.  He still retains that boyish enthusiasm and intellect that we saw in a young boy.  Dan is a blogger & newscast producer for WTVC NewsChannel9  in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  He loves music and politics and for fun is reading the works of world literature in chronological order.

Today we also celebrated my friend Paige's birthday.  The actual date is the 18th but a group of us went out to dinner at a wonderful Mexican restaurant called Tia Rosa in Mesa.  Yum!  Not only was it a fun looking place to go but the food was very good.  Paige is from Washington state and is very creative.  She spins, knits and makes glass beads among other talents.  She also makes a mean martini.

Happy Birthday Dan and Paige

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
