Spring Flowers

My flowers were covered with weeds so I went to work and began pulling the worst.  There is still a long way to go but here are a few of the ones that you can see.  The pink rose bush is one of my favorites as it continues to bloom all summer although not quite as spectactularly as it does in the spring.  We had a storm here this weekend so it took rather a beating.  Am glad I got this picture last week.

I can't remember the name of the bright pink flower.  It'll come to me later.  I had it planted all along a path a few years ago and this is the lone survivor.

I've had this bleeding heart for years and years.  It doesn't mind that I often dig up part of it and give away to friends.  It just fills in the space where the hole was and rewards me every year with new growth and flowers.

This french lilac blooms a little later than the other lilacs we have.  Lilac bushes fascinate me and we have 4 at different places in the yard.  The newest one hasn't bloomed yet so I'm eager to see that happen.

I think they are called 'Pinks' they smell spicey like carnations.... my mom used to have them in a flower bed that I would weed for $$$. I was always saving for something, a Barbie Doll or a fancy swimming cap... I would never say this out loud or without the benefit of a margarita but I kind of wish I was there to help pull weeds... kind of.

Paige,
Bite your tongue! There aren't enough margaritas! The garden is massive and the weeds (I'm guessing and no offense to you mom!)are plentiful. I've helped weed before and it is quite a chore! I've also gathered endless bouquets from the garden! That makes it all worth it!

Hush Margaret, Paige I wish you were here too. We would weed, gossip and stop for Margaritas on the patio every so often. One nice side to being retired is that we don't have to work like crazy on the weekends and after work. It's a leisurely job. So when will you get here. Yes, pinks.

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
