Santa Rosa, NM on the way home

It was a long boring (for the most part) drive from Las Cruses to Santa Rosa, New Mexico.  We took highway 70 and then 54.  While it was a 2 lane road for most of the way, traffic was light.  The road was quite bumpy until we came to a new stretch.  We passed the White Sands National Monument but didn't stop in as we've been here before.  Other than that there was very little change in the scenery, rolling hills and evergreen shrubery of some sort.  This is Billy the Kid territory so there are a few historical markers telling about his exploits.  He was an outlaw who seems to have taken on the persona of a folk hero.  I don't understand.

Last night we drove to El Paso and had dinner with my sister Mary, her husband Larry and their son Jimmy.  Jimmy's girlfriend was there so we got to meet her.  She is a sweet young woman who was quick to help clear after dinner.  Mary and Larry are trying to sell their house so hired a 'stager' who did some redecorating and moving of furniture around.  Wonder what such a person would do in our house.  She'd probably throw up her hands and run.

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
