Queen Creek Olive Mill

The power was turned off in the park this afternoon from noon to 3 pm.  The hottest day of the year so far.  So no choice but to load up the dogs in the air-conditioned car and take a drive.  We drove to Queen Creek which is south of Apache Junction to visit the olive mill.  Unlike most olive growing regions of the world, Arizona does not have a problem with the olive fly due to the extreme heat of the growing season.

John explored the grounds while I explored the gift shop.  They have all different kinds of stuffed olives with samples available.  I ended up purchasing garlic stuffed olives, blood orange olive oil (makes a yummy salad dressing) and a mixture for dipping bread.    We shall be sampling the dipping oil with friends and family before we leave town.  We arrived back home just shortly before the power was turned back on.  It took the remaining afternoon hours to cool off the trailer.

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
