Let us eat cake

Margaret fixed me a delicious birthday dinner (Erick did the chicken and mashed the potatoes.  I fixed a veggie dish, John set the table. ) But as you can see from the picture, she had the pure inspiration to have two kinds of chocolate cake and ice cream.  Being the indulgent mother that I am, I went along with her plan and ate both with some ice cream.  I rode home on a sugar high.

Now I shall begin my fitness plan in ernest.  John and I have committed ourselves to the new exercise program in the park.  It involves exercising half an hour each day.  Doesn't matter doing what but we have to mark our progress on a chart for all to see.  Ah ha, I know some of you are thinking how easy to cheat.  It never crossed my mind!

Met a neighbor who is from Wakeeney, KS which is close to John's home town.  They discovered a lot of people they both now.  But what I enjoyed was hearing about when the elephants got loose in Wakeeney.  (Sounds like a book title.)  Seems the town tornado siren went off when the circus was in town.  Frightened the elephants and they took off.  Can you imagine a homeowner looking out and seeing an elephant in their front yard?  Some old person calling their child and telling them.  They'd be committed for sure!  The town made t-shirts to commemerate the occasion.

Happy Birthday! Glad you were born -- even thought I didn't want you to be older and got to do everything first!

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
