Ted's Hot Dogs

As many of you know I am a great fan of hot dogs.  The best place to enjoy one is at a baseball game on a nice afternoon.  But the other option is Ted's Hot Dogs in Tempe.  It's a regional chain in New York and one of the family wanted to move to Arizona.  So he opened up the branch here.  It's an experience which reminds me of the soup nazi on Seinfield (although they are much nicer).  There is a long line waiting to order.  The cook stands at the grill behind the counter and doesn't wait for you to get to the counter to ask you what you want.  You can tell newcomers since they aren't keeping a close eye on him with their order ready.  He points to you and to keep him happy you tell him your choice, regular, white, foot-long, sausage, etc.  They do have hamburgers for idiots who don't know a good thing when they taste it!  If you aren't watching, you have to wait until you get up to the counter, confess your stupidity and then wait while he cooks and the rest of us move around you.

I recommend the regular with hot sauce (they make their own), onions, and a pickle.  The french fries are excellent as well.

Then a stop at the pharmacy to pick up my drugs.  And the drug business is good in Apache Junction.  Just think of all these old people.  They have 120 of the little tubs to put the waiting scripts in and they all seemed to have at least one and often more.

I have enjoyed a blog by margaretandhelen.wordpress.com  They have quite a way with words.

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
