On the Road

We are so easily entertained!  Great excitement when we passed three trucks carrying the 3 arms of a giant windmill.  Those things are huge!!  Somehow they don't look that big when you see them at a distance.  The first rest area in Illinois has a full scale antique road grading machine.  You may ask why we cared.  It was made in Indianapolis and for several years we owned a salesrep's sample of the same machine.  It was a minature replica of the this one.  We did sell it but John had great fun dragging it out to show people.

I finished up my book about a detective in ancient Greece.  It was called One Virgin Too Many and was fun to read about this irreverent 'informer'.  I'll look for more in this series.  Then went to the 1917's to read A Cup of Tea by Amy Ephron.  A delightful little love story with a different ending.  Good book to read in the car.

We're at one of our favorite campgrounds tonight in Hannabel, MO.  Had a little accident with the layout today.  We may have to repair a few trees.  Not sure what happened to the boy on the swing.

Hi, Jane,

Have you read any of the Gordianus the Finder series by Steven Saylor? It's set in ancient Rome and is really good. We miss you!

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
