Selling a House

Selling a house is no big deal.  Giving up our dream home of the last 20 years is extremely difficult.  People are coming back for a second look tonight.  I want to say this has been a place of joy and love.  Ignore the chip in the paint, the floors not yet refinished, the uneven cabinet in the kitchen.  Feel the fun that has occurred here.  The 40 guests for Thanksgiving dinner the year we moved in (and the drains that backed up that day).  The Wampus frolic where we had a fortune teller on the second floor landing and dancing in the dining room.  The new years eves with the grandchildren when spraying grandpa with silly string was so much fun. There is still a bit of silly string on the chandelier.  Many dinners with family and friends took place in the dining room.  The guest bedroom had a rollaway single bed for one grandchild so that the other grandchildren wouldn't feel her as she tossed and turned when they all spent the night.  This dining room is where our 3 year old granddaughter said (when asked to say what she was thankful for on Thanksgiving) "I'm thankful for Grammie".  And the bed where another granddaughter turned to me and said "I love you Grammie".  The foyer was where my 3 year old grandson loved to dance as I played the piano and then "You dance Grammie and I'll play the piano". The image of Max sleeping on the futon on his last evening on this earth. The Christmas celebrations - the treasure hunt for a fish, the dining room filled with furniture made by John, stocking presents, our silly houseshoes, a gift from our son and daughter-in-law.

I could go on and on.  The memories I'll carry with me but I want to say to potential buyers - "This house is loaded with good karma".  Enjoy it and ignore all the small imprefections.

And on

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
