The Mercedes Arrived

Amy and John (her husband, not her father or her brother) drove our Mercedes convertible from Indianapolis to Arizona.  They were also loaded down with items we had forgotten and thought we needed.  John did the work to make sure the car was in tip top shape before they made the trip.  Most of the trip was done with the top down.  But when they started getting into the high country, they had to put the top up.  They did make it to the Grand Canyon and felt as we all did about the view - Spectacular.

We had a fun day today.  First we located a branch of John's bank.  There are only 3 branches in the US.  One in Indy, one in Milwaukee, and one in Scottsdale, AZ.  Very handy for them as John needed to deposit a pay check.  Then we took the twins to Oregano's for lunch.  This is one of my favorite pizza places.  Both twins liked the pizza and you can see in the picture that Lily stuffed her mouth.  She also spent a great deal of time on Uncle John's lap.  After lunch we spent some time walking around Old Town Scottsdale.  Grandpa tried to get Lily and Callum interested in a cowboy hat but it didn't work.  Lily tried on every pair of shoes she could but we resisted spending $40 for a pair of kids shoes.  Although it was hard for Grandpa to say no.

After dropping the babies and Grandpa home so they could all nap, Margaret, Amy, John and I drove to Changing Hands book store.  Amy and John had never been there so it was quite a treat.  I resisted purchasing any books as I know I'll get a coupon for my birthday next month.   Plus Amy brought me a bunch of books to read.  Margaret bought a toy and book for the twins.

We enjoyed a taco dinner then drove our cars home.  The little Mercedes 450 SL looks so tiny next to the Suburban.  We will enjoy driving it while the weather is nice (which is a good deal of the time in Arizona).

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
