Black and Read

I couldn't leave Denver without checking out another bookstore.  Becky sent me a link to their web site and I was hooked.  On our last day, instead of cleaning house in anticipation of Sue's arrival, we drove to Black and Read.  It was a bit of a drive but well worth it.  It was one of those used book stores where you would do best with a list of authors.  The amount of books was overwhelming.  The cookbook section was huge as well as many of the other categories.  It was crowded with unshelved books.  They also sold music, DVD's, comics, etc.  An experience just to walk around.

My only regret was that there wasn't a single place to sit for a moment and try to look up my want list on line.  I do like used book stores that have a place to sit to look through some of the selections.  But that was a small annoyance.  I tried to restrain myself but as anyone who knows me, that's not easy when I'm with books.  John also found a few books on Native Americans that he didn't have.

We also stopped by evoo Marketplace before leaving town.  They have fantastic flavored olive oils and balsamic vinegars.  I became spoiled using them on salads at Sue's house.  So I purchased a few to take to Arizona with me.  Can't wait to start building salads with them.

Our stay in Denver is over.  It was lots of fun and we enjoyed ourselves.  We took a hint from the natives and walked and walked and walked.  I can now walk almost an hour a day as opposed to the 10 min maximum when I arrived.  It feels good.  Now to keep it up as we enter the heat of Arizona.

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
