Tucson Festival of Books

They were expecting 450 authors and 80,000 people.  But that didn't deter us from attending the festival.  It was held on the U of A campus so things were spread out a bit.  We first went to hear Luis Alberto Urrea (yes, I bought a book).  I have read two of his books The Hummingbird's Daughter and The Devil's  Highway.  Both good reads.  He is a charmer and was fun to listen to.  The signing line took a while because he chatted with each person.  Fun when you are the person he is talking to.The 350 seat room was filled as he has a great many followers.
We also listened to John Hemmingway talk about and read from his book about his grandfather (Ernest) and his father's relationship.  I'm looking forward to reading that book as well.  He says he missed getting the gene which caused so many members of his family to have bipolar disorder.

There were a number of activities and events for children as well and it was all free.  Parking was free also.  So the only expense we had were the books that I couldn't resist buying.  Now to prepare for next year.

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
