For this get-together we chose Goldman's Deli in Scottsdale. One of the nice things about being retired is we can choose locations to eat based on the food and not on the location. It's okay to drive an hour to get there, spend 2 hours for lunch and then drive an hour home. And we can do this every single day!!! Goldmans reminds me of Shapiros in Indy except they don't have quite the selection of hot foods. They are originally from Chicago and are quite vocal in their support of the Bears. So naturally, John always wears his Colts championship hat when we go there. (No telling what is done to his food in the kitchen.)
Margaret is done with the radiation so is waiting to have a port/plug (something so they won't have to keep finding veins) in and the next step will be chemo. She puts up with all this and has a great attitude.
Book club at the library this week discussed the book 'My Stroke of Insight'. It is a good book and full of information about what happens to the brain during and after a stroke. My sister, Alice, wrote to the author after reading it and received a lovely hand-written note from the author. She shared it with me so that I could take it to our discussion.
The mystery book club this month will be discussing 'Missing'. It was good and caused me to stay up half the night reading. Hate it when that happens - HA. Now back to 'The Little Book' which involves time travel.
