Jake is 18

Jake's birthday was on August 30. Seems hard to believe that it was 18 years ago when he was born. We decided to delay the celebration until Margaret and Erick and the twins arrived from Phoenix. It was pure delight having all our grandchildren together. As you can imagine, there was a lot of laughing and fun involved. The first picture shows Carson, Sam, Jake and Lily and Callum. Then we got a picture of us with our grandchildren. We made so much noise and were laughing so hard that Margaret took a video of the event.
We have a magnolia tree in the back yard which has been perfect for climbing. The rule at our house was always that you couldn't climb a tree until you could do it without help. Jake and Amy decided to give it a try and we got some good pictures of them hanging upside down.

Then we presented Jake with his birthday cake and candles. It's always hard to decide what to give an 18 year old. So Grandpa and I are taking him shopping and to lunch. That way we get to enjoy
watching his pleasure as he picks out something he'd like plus we get to spend more time with him.

The Phoenix portion of the family has returned home. They were exhausted by the visit. But they say it was worth it. I know that the Indianapolis friends and family enjoyed having a chance to meet the twins.

We're leaving soon for Maryland for a great-neice's wedding. It will be fun to see John's brother and all their children. Then it's on the way to Apache Junction to relax and recoup.

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
