Carol Orr

We lost a friend today and a member of Erick's family. Carol fought a long and hard battle with ALS. Throughout the whole time, she remained cheerful and smiling. We'll miss her. When Margaret and Erick moved to Phoenix, she welcomed them with open arms and made our daughter feel at home. Carol was married to Erick's father Bill, who has devoted his life to making her as comfortable as possible while the illness took control of her body.

She loved to entertain and hosted Margaret and Erick's wedding. Their home provided a beautiful setting in Fountain Hills for the occasion. We were priviledged to spend many hours at a variety of functions in their home. She was a wonderful cook so we looked forward to the meals at her house. Carol was always the perfect hostess, making sure every guest was included in the conversation. Her sense of humor was delightful.
She was cheerful and cracking jokes at Margaret's baby shower even though the sound of her voice came through a computer which she used to transfer her thoughts into voice.

She was thrilled that she lived to see the twins (Carol was a twin herself) and to have them in her lap. A big regret of hers was that she couldn't put her arms around them and hold them.

Carol was and continues to be an inspiration to us all. Someday we'll share the stories with the twins about their remarkable Grandma Carol. Now we are full of tears because she is gone but are relieved for her that her struggle is over.

I am so sorry to hear of Carol's passing. I used to work with Carol at Mittal Steel (AKA Bethlehem Steel). She was always very cheery. I will keep Bill and his family in my prayers.

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
