A day with Jake

Do you think this boy needs a haircut?  He thought he did.  And it had nothing to do with the misunderstanding from last night.  We had planned this when he first arrived.  The hair was out of control!!!  Afterwards we went to old Scottsdale and went shopping.  We found this really cool hat store and Jake found the perfect hat.  A fedora (John calls it a Frank Sinatra hat) that really looks perfect on him.  Then we had to stop at Goodwill to find the perfect retro clothes to go with it.  That boy really looks good.

Wait until the girls see him now!!!

Afterwards we went home and took a dip in the pool.

My warning to all grandparents.  Do not have a teenager visit you in an RV park full of old folks.  We are exhausted!!!! Jake seems to be doing fine.  He's been a bit bummed out because there is NO ONE for him to hang out with.  But I look at it this way.  He has a pool (okay, that doesn't count since he has a pool at home although it is too cold there for him to swim.)  He has adoring grandparents who will run him anywhere he asks (although we do become gaga at about 9 pm and aren't too coherent).  We happily spend money on him (in fact get excited about the priviledge of doing so).  We sneak out the back door in the morning and have coffee on the patio so we won't disturb him until he wakes up at noon or thereabouts  (okay, too be fair, this is what we usually do in the morning).  We and our neighbors are developing a new appreciation for all kinds of new music.  Forget the classical, big band and golden oldies.  We are getting spoiled as he cooks for us, runs errands and gives us unconditional love.

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
