Globe AZ

We spent the day with new friends, Al and Linda Windler.  They are the owners of the garden railway we visited.  They also love the desert plants and wildlife.  Our first stop was at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum and we spent a couple of hours admiring the plants and birds. Linda is an experienced bird watcher so was able to identify many of the birds flying around.  We all know what a flop I was at birdwatching.  Nice to be with someone who was quite nice about my lack of knowledge.  I didn't know there were so many varities of yucca.  They  also have a huge variety of plants of the Austrailan desert and those of Africa as well.  Too much to do all in one day.

We then traveled on to Globe and took a train ride.  We are sitting in the observation car which provided a good view.  The train went to the casino.  A number of people take the opportunity to gamble and then catch the next train back.

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
