Breakfast with Katie

We were fortunate to get to take Katie Turpin-Strough out for breakfast at the Brass Rail.  It's a bar in Phoenix that has a delicious, cheap breakfast.  I don't know what the other meals are like but this place was packed on a Saturday morning.  We ended up sharing a table with some other folks who graciously took this picture.

Katie and Gwen had been in Yuma to whip their Mom and Dad into shape.   I enjoyed the picture of Margaret and Gil on Facebook both in wheelchairs.  Gil just had gall bladder surgery and Margaret is still recovering from cancer surgery.  The girls left them with a clean trailer and two weeks worth of food.  We're just sorry we didn't get a chance to see Gwen as well.

I'm reading Endurance now about Shackleton's expedition to Antartica.  Hard to read about those cooooooold temps while it is 80' outside.  Can't imagine why anyone would go there.

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
