Wild goose chases

We're thinking the locals are having fun sending these tenderfoots on wild goose chases.  Yesterday they told us we could drive to the top of the mountain that we see out our window.  So off we went and ended up about 50 miles away from the mountain.  Then today we decided to take advantage of a coupon I found for a free pound of chorizo from Cactus Meats which was about 5 miles from town.  I was prepared to load up the freezer with meat.  Unfortunately Cactus Meats closed years ago and there is now a winery in it's place.

Being the adventurers we are, we stopped in to sample the wares.  Some other people in there at the time talked about mixing brandy with wine.  That  was new to me.  We decided to help out the local economy and buy a couple of bottles.

The locals had a good chuckle at our gullibility.

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
