Salt Mine

Visited the salt mines today.  Located in the mine is an underground storage facility.  Warner Bros is one of their customers.  The original copy of Gone With the Wind is stored here.  We also saw the costume that George Clooney wore in Batman.  Believe me, it looked a lot better with him inside it.  A constant temperature and humidity is naturally maintained.  Salt from here is shipped all over the US for putting on roads.  Just think, salt from Kansas may help rust out your cars this winter. That is if you are in a climate where you get snow.

We also discovered a quilt shop. There I bought the materials for my next project.  Reading is a much cheaper hobby as libraries are free.  But am hooked on quilting! Not that I'm giving up reading.

Gas is 2.81 a gallon. Best we've seen so far.

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
