Liberal, KS

Spent a fun afternoon sitting on the berm of a highway in Western Kansas with two flat tires.  No problem, we've paid big bucks for that roadside assistance.  They tell us 3 to 4 hours.  After two hours a good samaritan by the name of Isaac Conners from Sublette, Ks stops and insists he can help.  He removes the rims (tires were in shreds) and takes John to the Coop in Sublette and gets new tires.  He puts the tires on and sends us on our way.  Isaac is an angel.

The other exciting part of this was that we stopped close to a dead animal on the road.  We left our car windows down so the flies found our car a great place to congregate.  People passing us may have wondered about these two old people waving their arms as they drove down the road.

We passed on stopping at the museum which featured the world's largest ground hog.  That goes on our bucket list with the spam museum.

You had a chance to go to the SPAM museum and didn't go? I don't know, I would not pass that up! :)

Sam talked us out of that one.

I know it wasn't funny, but you put it in such a comical way I had to laugh! So sorry. Two tires at the same time? Whats up with that?! Good luck the rest of the way--will keep in touch with your travels.

What else can you do at that point but laugh.

You skipped out on the world's largest groundhog? How could you?!?! I bet you also missed one of the world's largest balls of twine in Cawker City and passed up your chance to visit the Kansas Barbed Wire Museum in LaCrosse! What kind of world travellers are you?

Glad to view your blog! Now, we will be able to keep abreast of your RV travails!

Obviously we are going to have to rush back to Kansas! Missing the barbed wire museum. And we were so close! And the ball of twine. We missed a rare opportunity there.

About Me

We retired after years of being in the computer support business, Jane with Brulin Corp and John with Unisys. We tried tent camping but finally settled on RV living. While we are part timers now, we hope to move to becoming full-timers eventually. John works on his HO model of Ellis, KS UP railroad and Jane persues her search for used books to read and sell on Amazon. We winter in Apache Junction, AZ and summer in Indiana.
